Finding the right fit when looking for a therapist is hard work. Most of us are looking for a therapist who “gets” us and can help us move from point A to point B in our personal journeys. I believe you are the expert on your life story. And every gifted story writer needs a team around them as they edit and rewrite- to provide helpful feedback, new approaches to try, and validation of what is working well. Possibly you need someone to affirm that something in your current story is not working well, and to help you identify changes you’d like to make. I love accompanying clients on the journey of self-discovery that the therapy process can instigate. Right now, you may feel “stuck” or simply be struggling to get through another day feeling anxious or depressed. You may be navigating painful relationships- or upheaval in a formerly good relationship. Bringing a professional counselor on board can help you move from this difficult moment towards healing and growth. I work hard to educate myself on issues that are important to you, knowing how important it is that I understand the unique language and nuances of your story.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in the state of Texas, and have a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas – Houston. My LPC-Supervisor is Tara Coker Devine, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT-S, LCDC.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a variety of approaches in collaboration with each individual client. You are one-of-a-kind, and I believe your therapy experience should be as unique as you are. My “therapy toolkit” includes person-centered, narrative, CBT, feminist, bio-psycho-social, and somatic/body-oriented approaches. I have experience working with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, self-harm, chemical dependency, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. In addition, I have sought knowledge and training in working with the following underserved populations: Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP), Religious Trauma Syndrome/spiritual abuse, Adult Children of Narcissists (ACONs), and clients who wish to integrate their religion/spirituality into the counseling process.
I believe:
  • in your inner wisdom and intuition to help you find what you need on your personal journey.
  • that trust is not automatic, but naturally developed over time in a collaborative relationship.
  • that you have the right to ask me questions and give me honest feedback.
  • you are strong, and that part of our work together is acknowledging and fully owning your many strengths, even in the midst of difficulty or struggle.
  • that you have the right to be fully human, complex, and contradictory in our work together.
  • that you deserve a therapeutic approach that is kind, strong, gentle, and brave.
