Rebecca Jacklin is a seasoned therapist who has worked with adults, teens, and children from various backgrounds. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in social work and minored in family science. She earned her Master’s degree in social work at the University of Houston. At Texas Children’s Hospital, Rebecca helped families adjust to new diagnoses, was a co-presenter and educator to parents and community, as well as assisted with social skills groups. She has also worked for a developmental pediatrician where she helped families learn techniques for life with special needs children through parent management training, connected them to community resources, and helped parents request school testing. In San Diego, she worked as an Autism Specialist for the school district and worked simultaneously as a life coach. Other work experience includes: counselor in settings of mental health, substance abuse, and with troubled teens and has been a volunteer in women’s welfare programs and as a youth leader.
Rebecca interned at Wasatch Mental Health for her BSW and Texas Children’s Hospital Meyer Center for Developmental Disorders for her MSW.
Rebecca has lived in Asia where she developed a great respect for other cultures and religions. She is a strong advocate for whole health and wellness, life balance, and body positivity. She also has extensive knowledge of the Texas school system and has assisted many families with special needs.
