Monica McDermott graduated from the Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi after earning her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi in psychology. She gained clinical experience in a variety of settings including state hospitals, clinics and shelters. Monica has worked with clients experiencing, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, mood disorders, self esteem issues , body images, substance use and thought disorders. She has experience with young children, adolescence and adults. She enjoys using CBT and expressive arts which allows individuals to freely express their feelings and learning empowerment to guide them in helping themselves. Cami draws upon many different psychological approaches including CBT, DBT, Person Centered, Narrative, Psychodynamic, Biological, Cognitive, and Humanistic. Cami is trained to work with adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups. We all have what it takes inside to make it over life’s hurdles. But sometimes we need a helping hand.
