She gained clinical experience in a variety of settings including state hospitals, clinics and shelters. Monica has worked with clients experiencing, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, mood disorders, self esteem issues , body images, substance use and thought disorders. She has experience with young children, adolescence and adults. She enjoys using CBT and expressive arts which allows individuals to freely express their feelings and learning empowerment to guide them in helping themselves. Colette believes that therapy is a collaborative process in which she enjoys assisting her clients to increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives, decrease symptoms, and increase personal strengths to have a more meaningful life experience. Colette utilizes a person-centered and cognitive behavior approach exploring the beliefs that inform emotions and patterns of behaviors, utilizing a variety of techniques such as Psychotherapy, CBT, CPT and TFCBT, tailored to meet the needs of any individual. Colette has worked with adults and children to overcome depression, anxiety, and early abuse and neglect issues. Her special interest is assisting people in recognizing and changing long-standing ineffective patterns of behavior, and in working with people who have experienced undernourished and traumatic childhoods. She also works with people who experience stress, job burnout, and grief and loss issues. |
